The AFCS Arts in the Afternoon ASES program is designed to support academic success, assist with homework, and provide fun and educational enrichment activities. All activities are coordinated with the regular school day, allowing students to easily transition from their last class of the day into the after-school program.

ASES runs from after school to 6:00 p.m. every school day. Students participating in the program are expected to stay for the whole duration. Exceptions may be made for students in parallel programs and/or who have other obligations after school. Early release forms must be filled out and signed by a parent for any student needing to leave the program early.

Eligibility & Applications:
Students interested in ASES/ELOP can participate if they are enrolled at AFCS during the regular school day and are in Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade.

Our district will offer priority Enrollment to unduplicated students who meet any of the following criteria:​
• Homeless and/or foster youth
• Low income (eligible for free/reduced meals under LCFF)
• English learners
• Siblings of all of the above
• Students with IEP or 504

Enrollment in the program lasts one school year. Students must fill out a new application and re-enroll each academic year.
